چکیده

Garden cress is a vegetable crop in the Brassicaceae family that appreciated for its nutraceutical and taste-giving components minimally processed food chains. Due to very short cycle, which depends on range of production from microgreens baby-leaf vegetables, this threatened by soil-borne pathologies developing within initial stages germination emergence. This study aims evaluate suppressive bio-compost as an innovative means counteract main telluric diseases garden reduce risks yield loss adopting sustainable remedies decreasing dependence synthetic fungicides. Therefore, eleven green composts obtained using both previously distilled raw aromatic plant residues were analyzed properties against Rhizoctonia solani Sclerotinia sclerotiorum sown cress. The biological active component composts, detected CO2-release, FDA-hydrolysis microbial counts, proved be indispensable pathogen control vitro vivo, demonstrated suppressiveness after sterilization. Cross-polarization magic angle spinning 13C-nuclear magnetic resonance (CP-MAS-13C-NMR) was used analyze molecular distribution organic C composts. results indicated suitability feedstock make quality compost. suppression levels shown P1 (40% wood chips, 30% escarole mixture sage, basil, mint parsley) P2 essential oil-free basil rosemary) are promising sustainable, non-chemical vegetables.

On the expression of several Lhc genes in garden cress (Lepidium sativum L.).

The polymerase chain reaction was used to prepare gene-specific probes for several Lhc genes coding for chlorophyll a/b-binding proteins of cress (Lepidium sativum L.). Due to the presence of about 150 basepairs of the coding region, the isolated clones could be attributed to Lhc a3 (1 clone), Lhc b1 (5 clones), Lhc b2 (1 clone) and Lhc b3 (1 clone) genes. Probes prepared from the 3'non-coding ...

Effect of citric acid on antioxidant activity of garden cress (Lepidium sativum L.) under chromium stress

Chromium-VI would impose detrimental effects morphological, physiological, and metabolic in plants. This study aimed to research the impact of citric acid (0, 2.5 and 5 mM), on different the morphological and physiological characteristics of garden cress exposed to chromium-VI stress (0, 1, and 10 mM). Results showed that some growth parameters, chlorophyll, carotenoids, and DPPH activity decre...

Sequencing and phylogenetic study of APETALA1 homologous gene in garden cress (Lepidium sativum L.)

The flowering process in plants proceeds through the induction of an inflorescence meristem triggered by several pathways. Many of the genes associated with these pathways encode transcription factors of the MADS domain family. The MADS-domain transcription factor APETALA1 (AP1) is a key regulator of flower development. The first step to understand the molecular mechanisms under the function of...
